DRAFTS AND DISCUSSIONS

Test of the KASCADE primary energy spectra by the GAMMA experiment EAS data set

KASCADE primary energy spectra don't describe the GAMMA experiment EAS data set. Below the detected EAS size spectra and EAS muon truncated size spectra are presented (2005) for SIBYLL and QGSJET interaction models. The black lines are our predictions according to primary spectra from 0704.3200 [astro-ph] (2007). The red lines are the corresponding predictions according to KASCADE unfolded primary energy spectra.

OUTLOOK: The KASCADE primary spectra disagree with GAMMA data set (presented in 29th ICRC, Pune, India 2005) We account for the observed disagreement by the very flat (energy spectral index is about -1.9) unfolded KASCADE's Iron energy spectrum due to the underestimated contribution of pseudo solutions, 0706.4087 [astro-ph] (2007).

The domains of pseudo solutions for KASCADE unfolded elemental spectra in the knee region are shown below. For detail, see the publication: S.V. Ter-Antonyan, "Mutually compensative pseudo solutions of primary energy spectra in the knee region", Astroparticle Physics 28, 3 (2007) 321 ,  ,  arXiv:0706.4087
